Pitt Barn Cottages are situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Cornish countryside, the cottages are centrally located between Launceston and Callington in central Cornwall (SW England) close to Duchy College in the village of Stoke Climsland.   They are ideally placed for touring both the north and south coast of Devon and Cornwall. Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and a variety of National Trust properties are all close by including Cotehele House, Lanhydrock, Launceston Castle and Tintagel Castle. Looe beach and fishing harbour is thirty minutes away. The Eden Project at St Austell is only fifty minutes away. The surrounding Tamar Valley is rich in the heritage of tin, copper and arsenic mining, with many interesting walks available through these scenic areas.   Close by is the city of Plymouth with its new shopping mall, Drake's Circus, the Pavilions with it's indoor swimming pool and ice skating rink and the Theatre Royal.  Plymouth is also famous for its many tourist attractions including Plymouth Hoe, the historic Barbican and Mayflower steps, the Aquarium, Smeaton's Tower (lighthouse) and Plymouth's outdoor swimming pool with fantastic views of Plymouth Sound and Drake's Island.   Also close by are St Mellion and Trethorne golf courses.   Pitt Barn Cottages are located in the countryside with fantastic dark skies at night and weather permitting ideal for astronomy.   There are shops including a Tesco Store in Callington which is approximately 3 miles away.   Owl Barn,  The Stable and The Shippen are all detached self catering holiday cottages are located in the lovely Cornish countryside tucked away on a quiet country lane beside the owner's own home. The barns are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard and provide excellent all year accommodation.   Pitt Barn Cottages provide 15 minutes free internet wireless access, daily from the outside porch or patio table at Pitt Barn (owner's home).   The cottages are available for both weekly bookings and short term breaks.  Short term breaks lasting 2 nights usually start on a Friday or Saturday. Short breaks lasting 4 nights usually start on a Monday.   Bookings for Owl Barn in peak season usually start on a Saturday. Bookings for The Stable and The Shippen in peak season usually start on a Friday.   Owl Barn caters for 1 to 5 people. The Stable caters for 1 to 3 people. The Shippen caters for 1 to 3 people. For larger parties of 3 to 11 people the barns can be booked together.   Regret no pets in all barns. However, Camelot Boarding Kennels & Cattery are close by (approximately 5 minutes/1.5 miles) if you do wish to bring your pet on holiday.
